Whether it is a new set of outside lights you need to illuminate your new driveway or some spectacular new spots installed in your kitchen, at Valmac we can handle all of your lighting installation requirements.

The type and position of lighting makes a huge difference to the mood and feel of a space, whether it is inside our out. On the one had you want to consider how a light looks when it is off, on the other what it brings to the party to enhance the ambiance when it is on.

Lighting Safety

Choosing a light that is rated for the application you need it for and making sure it is properly wired-in is really important. After all, the last thing you want is to keep blowing a fuse every time the bathroom gets misted up. Even worse would be an electric shock as one of those can quite easily be fatal.

At Valmac we know the British Standards relating to electricity and fittings inside and out. BS 7671 isn't light reading, that's for sure, but it does cover every aspect of electrical installations. If you are unsure what you can use and you don't fancy reading the equivalent of Tolstoy's War and Peace, you can always ask us instead.

Smart Lighting

Honestly, its a real thing, we promise! The average smart light bulb isn't going to win University Challenge, but it will do what its told when Alexa or a button on your smart phone tells it to.

We are seeing the implementation of Smart Technology everywhere in the home now. There's some pretty cool kit around too.

A lot of what is available is extremely simple to set up, but if you are having trouble or want some guidance, you know who to call!

Lighting Fault Finding & Repair

Tripping a fuse when you flick a light switch on is so annoying. This can happen a lot when you have outside lights as they can accumulate water which causes a short circuit. This most often happens when the fitting has been incorrectly installed or is of poor quality.

if you keep losing power due to a short circuit somewhere and you need some help identifying where the problem is and rectifying it, we will be able to lend a hand.
